Thank You

This is just a brief post to thank you for visiting this blog. Considering that there are hundreds of Lost blogs to choose from, many with far greater detail and more frequent posts, I really appreciate that you stop by to read this particular one.

I am taking a step back to reflect on the year, and I can't believe that I only started this site in January of '08! I had been posting Lost theories on my pop culture blog for a while but created this one at the beginning of the year to focus solely on our favorite show. Time has flown by quickly, and YOU have made it a very rewarding journey.

Of course I have to give a shout-out to my online alter ego/summer project Jeremy Bentham, without whom I would still be but a tiny blip in the online Lost community. If I had not created his blog or Facebook page earlier this year, I'm pretty sure that many of you would never have heard of me. I was just a chick playing a dude disguised as another dude. ;)

Happy New Year, Lost friends. I look forward to analyzing and discussing Season 5 with you very soon. Feel free to email or contact me via Facebook any time...and stay tuned for additional interviews, as well as reports from Oahu in February and San Diego/Comic-Con in July!
The light in me honors the light in you. Namaste, indeed.

LOST Book Club: Enter to Win One!

As most of you know, ABC introduced a Lost Book Club earlier this year, featuring many of the books which have been referenced on the show. In the spirit of the holidays and in anticipation of Season 5, I thought I would give away 5 of these books to fellow Lost fans!
  • Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass [Lewis Carroll]
  • The Little Prince [Antoine de Saint-Exupery]
  • Lord of the Flies [William Golding]
  • Valis [Philip K. Dick]
  • Watchmen [Alan Moore & David Gibbons]
Of course, I strayed from the official list to include Watchmen (a must-read with obvious influences on Lost; Damon Lindelof believes to be "the greatest piece of popular fiction ever produced") and The Little Prince (which is the title of the upcoming Episode 4/Season 5...and presumably about Aaron).

So, if YOU would like to win one of these books, answer this simple question: what makes you the biggest Lost fan among all of your friends, family and the online community?

Here are the rules of the contest:
  • Leave a comment here or on the wall of my Facebook group Discussion Board
  • Length: one paragraph. Be honest and/or creative, funny, etc.
  • Enter by January 5, 2009; 5 winners will be announced that day
  • Contest open to everyone in all countries
Have fun, good luck and thank you in advance for playing!

Belated LOST Season 5 Updates/News

My apologies for failing to update you with the latest LOST news. Obviously when the new season begins in January, I will have multiple entries here every week. During the off-season I have been focusing on my pop culture blog and other opportunities, but the buzz for Season 5 is mounting and I need to keep on top of it!

As you know, I prefer to remain spoiler-free. However, when Damon & Carlton took over the lackluster Dharma Wants You alternate reality game and started teasing us with scenes from Season 5 in their Dharma Special Access videos...I couldn't help myself (visit ABC to see those new scenes; I won't post them here out of respect for spoilerphobes).

Here are some of the more interesting and recent LOST stories, photos and videos:

Season 5: 17 uninterrupted episodes (TVguide)

New individual & entire cast promo photos (courtesy ABC, link via DocArzt)

"The Constant" rated the #1 episode of TV in 2008 (TIME)

New Dharma logo revealed [lighthouse or beacon? see image above], James Joyce's Ulysses featured (E!online; minor spoilers in video!)

I really appreciate that you take the time to visit and read this particular site when there are so many stellar LOST-specific ones for you to choose from. I may not have daily updates or breaking news, but I share your enthusiasm for the show and will do my best to provide entertaining and interactive posts from here on out.

Happy holidays!

-Jo
